“Halleluiah!” B
Scriptures: Ps 148, Isa 6, etc.
Halleluiah (halelu-yah).
Praise (halelu) the LORD (Yahweh)
from (in) the heavens,
Praise him (halelu-hu) in the heights above. Praise him (halelu-hu), all his angels,
Praise him (halelu-hu), all his heavenly hosts. Praise him (halelu-hu), sun and moon,
Praise him (halelu-hu), all you shining stars. Praise him (halelu-hu), you highest heavens
and you waters above the skies.
Let them praise (yehalelu)
the name of the LORD (Yahweh),
because he commanded and they were created.
He set them in place for ever and ever; he gave a decree (border)
that will never pass away (cross over) (Ps 148:1- 6).
Last time, we learned that the entire creation made by God reveals God’s invisible nature and its very existence glorifies God. In the human world, each person’s personality is expressed in the things he makes and does, like the paintings he draws, the music he plays, the songs he sings, the food he cooks, the words he speaks and writes, etc. By looking at any person’s work, we can get some idea about his character, ideas, worldview, values, and current state of mind. In other words, humans, made in the image of God, are endowed with the ability to create, just like God. It is especially crucial that we learn how to express our thoughts and desires with words because when we express a hope we have not yet seen, it works as faith to bring it to reality. Jesus said:
Have faith in God. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him (Mark 11:22-23).
