\nIn this week\u2019s Bible reading, I learned that it is important to keep your mouth clean by not saying things negatively or saying things you don\u2019t mean. Applying this to my life, this week when I read this passage I was more conscious of what I said and I stopped myself from saying negative things. Like when we started a new unit in math this week and it was confusing, normally I would say it was hard and I don\u2019t get it, but I stopped myself from saying it and I think it helped me understand the math more clearly. So I learned that it is important to not say things negatively.<\/p>\n

\nAgain, please make sure to write which exact chapter and verse you\u2019re talking about it, and quote it. I reread all 5 chapters to see what you mean, but as far as I read, none of the passages are really talking about saying negative things. Rather, it talks about flattery, deception, boasting, slandering other people, not keeping promises, and refusing to admit the existence of God. All of these things are different from negative confessions.<\/p>\n

Like when we started a new unit in math this week and it was confusing, normally I would say it was hard and I don\u2019t get it, but I stopped myself from saying it<\/span><\/p>\n

If something is really confusing or difficult to understand, it\u2019s important to be honest and ask the teacher. This is not negative confession. However, if you\u2019re just saying it\u2019s hard although you really don\u2019t think it\u2019s hard (for example, because you want to \u201cget along\u201d with your friends who are also saying it\u2019s hard), then this is something more (worse) than negative confession, right?<\/p>\n

\nI learned that it is important to be consistent with the Bible reading and to keep God in my life. In chapter 15, it says “who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind;… will never be shaken.” Furthermore, I need to know what the Bible says and live my life according to it, so that I would not become one of the “wicked” people in chapter 12, “who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race.”<\/p>\n

\nGood, Timothy. Even though you\u2019re writing about basically the same thing as last week, I can tell you learned something new from reading this week\u2019s passage. The key is to follow through with what you learned and decided to do.<\/p>\n

\nThis verse stuck out to me as well. Knowing that what the world honors and regards highly is vile in God\u2019s sight is an invaluable pearl of wisdom that will help protect you (if you don\u2019t forget this as you grow into an adult). There is very little worth in people\u2019s judgment. Only pursue and value God\u2019s approval.<\/p>\n

Also, just to make sure, I hope you know doing the Bible reading is not an oath that \u201churts.\u201d\ud83d\ude06 \u201cTaste and see that the Lord is good!\u201d (Psalm 34:8) Ezekiel ate God\u2019s words and it tasted like honey in his mouth. God\u2019s word nourishes you and gives you peace and joy that no one can take away.<\/p>\n

\nIn Psalms 11-15, I learned about how God is always with us and watches over us. Applying this to my life, I should pray to God if I have struggles. For example, i had a lot of assignments and projects due near their due date and I should ask God for guidance to help me with them.<\/p>\n

\nPlease always write which chapter and verse you\u2019re talking about, and quote it so we can understand what you\u2019re writing about. It will also help you be more specific with your applications. Like I wrote before to Timothy, don\u2019t read the Bible only in broad strokes\u2014by now, you know already that God is always with you. What new thing did you learn about that? What kind of people does God watch over? For what purpose? Is there anything we need to do on our part to stay within God\u2019s protection? In what kind of situations does it become hard to rely on God? Etc.<\/p>\n
