SUMMARY:The 21st Davar Winter Bible Seminar 12/29/2025 – 1/2/2026
DESCRIPTION:Davar Church holds bible seminar camps every year in August and December. Many people participate not only from California\, but also from all over the U.S.\, Japan\, and Asia. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city\, five days of concentrated Bible study provides a good opportunity to reflect on oneself and change one’s way of life. \n2025 Summer Bible Seminar\n12/29 (Mon) – 1/2 (Fri) at Pine Springs Ranch\nNow Accepting Applications!\n（Apply by 12/7） \nSpeaker : Rev. Toru Asai\nTheme: “Crossing the Jordan” \nI am with you and will watch over you wherever you go\, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you (Gen 28:15). \nThese are the words God spoke to Jacob in a dream the night he left his father’s house to travel to Haran\, where Laban lived. This land had been promised to his descendants since the time of Abraham\, his grandfather\, when God swore by Himself to give it to him and his descendants. Several centuries passed before Jacob’s descendants\, the Israelites\, took possession of the land\, and many crises challenged that oath. Even after Jacob returned from Haran\, a famine forced his entire family to flee to Egypt\, where they became slaves. However\, God’s oath always comes true. When the people who left Egypt made a golden calf and worshiped it in the wilderness\, Moses spoke to the Lord. \nRemember your servants Abraham\, Isaac and Israel\, to whom you swore by your own self: “I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and I will give your descendants all this land I promised them\, and it will be their inheritance forever (Exod 32:13).” \nWe can apply this oath of God to ourselves in Christ\, who are spiritual descendants of Abraham. What promises and blessings has God given us through the redemption of Christ? Just as the inheritance He vowed to give to Abraham’s descendants\, these blessings have already been granted to us and will never be taken away. About a thousand years after Abraham’s time\, when the nation of Judah was destroyed and its remnants were taken captive to the distant land of Babylon\, God said: \nFor I know the plans I have for you\,” declares the LORD\, “plans of peace and not of harm\, plans to give you hope and a future (Jer 29:11\, trans. mine). \nSo\, what kind of “peace (shalom)” is sworn for us who have already received eternal rest in Christ? Aren’t we being deceived by Satan and living as if we were still in the wilderness\, not yet crossing the Jordan River? Come\, let us cross the Jordan River together and enter the Promised Land flowing with milk and honey. \nFor more information: \n2025 Winter Bible Seminar

SUMMARY:Davar Summer Bible Seminar 8/10 (Sun) – 8/15 (Fri) at Camp Cedar Falls
DESCRIPTION:Davar Church holds bible seminar camps every year in August and December. Many people participate not only from California\, but also from all over the U.S.\, Japan\, and Asia. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city\, five days of concentrated Bible study provides a good opportunity to reflect on oneself and change one’s way of life. \n2025 Summer Bible Seminar\n8/10 (Sun) – 8/15 (Fri) at Camp Cedar Falls\nNow Accepting Applications! \nSpeaker : Rev. Toru Asai\nTheme: “The Lord is My Shepherd” \nThe LORD is my shepherd\,\nI shall not be in want.\nHe makes me lie down in green pastures\,\nhe leads me beside quiet waters\,\nhe restores my soul.\nHe guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake (Ps 23:1-3). \nAs people transition from childhood to adulthood\, they develop mental independence\, distancing themselves from the care and protection of their parents. This is a positive development we refer to as growth. However\, Satan exploits this independence to tempt us into relying on our own strength and wisdom\, living for ourselves instead of trusting in the good God\, just as he did to Eve. Consequently\, we no longer believe in the existence of the true shepherd and wander in darkness like lost sheep. Then\, one day\, you heard the voice of this shepherd and returned to him. \nFor you were like sheep going astray\, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls (1 Pet 2:25). \nSince this shepherd isn’t visibly present with you\, even if you are one of his sheep\, it’s possible that you still live in fear\, filled with worries and anxieties\, as if you were still lost. \nEven though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death\,\nI will fear no evil\, for you are with me;\nyour rod and your staff\, they comfort me (Ps 23:4). \nThis psalm contains many wonderful promises for you who have the Lord as your shepherd. This shepherd\, who laid down his life for you\, does not slumber night or day; he watches over you and seeks to guide you. \nI am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me–just as the Father knows me and I know the Father–and I lay down my life for the sheep (John 10:14-15). \nThe reality of this shepherd remains the same\, but that doesn’t automatically apply as a reality for you as long as you are one of his sheep. There are some important requirements for the sheep. So\, what are the keys to living a fruitful life in this shepherd-sheep relationship? \n\nSurely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life\, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever (Ps 23:6). \nFor more information: \n2025 Summer Bible Seminar

SUMMARY:Davar Winter Bible Seminar 12/25 (Wed) – 12/31 (Tue) at Davar Church
DESCRIPTION:12/25 (Wed) – 12/31 (Tue) （With the Sunday of 29th Off）at Davar Church\nNow Accepting Applications! Apply by 12/1 \nSpeaker : Rev. Toru Asai \n2024 Davar Winter Bible Seminar\nTheme : “Here I Am\, Call Me!” \nTake courage! It is I.\nDon’t be afraid (Matt 14:27). \nWhen a storm hit the disciples in the middle of the lake\, and the boat was about to sink\, Jesus walked nearby and spoke these words. They thought that Jesus was still on the hill on the other side of the lake and not with them. So\, was he not with them? \nHe calls me\,\nand I will answer him;\nI will be with him in trouble\,\nI will deliver him and honor him (Ps 91:15).\n \nWe Christians are not atheists and believe in the existence of God. However\, being a theist is not the same as believing in God\, who is with you. “When he calls on me” indicates that this person believes in God’s presence with him\, and the promise is “I will answer him.” \nAnd without faith it is impossible to please him\, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists (is) and that he rewards those who seek him (Heb. 11:6). \nDoes “he exists” refer to theism? Note that “whoever would draw near to God” are “those who seek him.” Those who do not believe in God’s presence are far from him and do not ask. That is why Jesus said to his disciples many times: \nAsk and it will be given to you;\nSeek and you will find;\nKnock and the door will be opened to you (Luke 11:9).\n \nGod is everywhere at all times. Whether you come near to God by believing in his presence depends on you. \nCome near to God and he will come near to you (James 4:8). \nFaith in God’s presence makes your earthly life abundant\, not your knowledge of the Bible\, religious piety\, fleshly zeal\, or how long you have been a Christian. That is why our Lord always says\, \nHere I am\, call me! \nApplication download:\n>> 2024 Davar Winter Bible Seminar Application (US Letter Size) \n>> 2024 Davar Winter Bible Seminar Application (A4 Size)

SUMMARY:Davar Summer Bible Seminar 7/28 (Sun) – 8/2 (Fri) at Davar Church
DESCRIPTION:2024 Summer Bible Seminar\n“Hallelujah! Amen! Ho!”\n7/28 (Sun) – 8/2 (Fri) at Davar Church (Apply by 7/7) \nSpeaker : Rev. Toru Asai \nDavar Church holds bible seminar camps every year in August and December. Many people participate not only from California\, but also from all over the U.S.\, Japan\, and Asia. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city\, five days of concentrated Bible study provides a good opportunity to reflect on oneself and change one’s way of life. \nSummer Bible Seminar 2024 “Hallelujah! Amen! Ho!” will be held on 7/28 (Sun) – 8/2 (Fri) at Davar Church. Now Accepting Applications! \nClap your hands\, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. How awesome is the LORD Most High\, the great King over all the earth (Ps 47:1-2)! \nThe Bible urges and commands all humans\, all creatures\, and\, of course\, the angels who live in the spiritual world to rejoice and praise God. Why? \nShout for joy to the LORD\, all the earth\, burst into jubilant song with music (98:4). \nNotice how the words like “shout” and “joy” are used in these Scriptures. Apparently\, there’s a difference between just saying “Hallelujah” and shouting “Hallelujah!” joyfully. \nShout for joy to the LORD\, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs (100:1-2). \nWhy does the Bible encourage us to rejoice\, shout\, and praise the Lord? Speaking of rejoicing\, we also find the following Scripture: \nI rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil (Ps 119:162 ESV) \nWhen we hear the Word and realize it is true\, we say\, “Amen!” This psalm figuratively expresses such joy in the Word as finding a great spoil. Admittedly\, understanding\, receiving\, and believing God’s word is closely related to joy. Can you explain why? At one time\, the Lord showed Jeremiah an almond branch and said: \nYou have seen correctly\, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled (Jer 1:12). \nHo! Blessed are those who believe that what Almighty God said will be fulfilled! Amen! \nDelight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart (Ps 37:4). \nHalleluiah! \nFor more information: \n2024 Summer Bible Seminar
